Billie Kay: A Brief Biography
Jessica McKay is an Australian professional wrestler signed with Impact Wrestling. She is currently one-half of the Impact Knockouts Champion. She is best known for her work with WWE as Billie Kay. She is a former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion.
Professional Wrestling Career
Independent Promotions (2007-2015)
McKay wrestled for several Australian and American promotions, such as PWA, CZW, ROH, Chikara, and Shimmer, before joining the WWE. She won several championships and accolades during her time with these promotions.
WWE
NXT (2015-2018)
In 2015, she signed with WWE and started working for NXT. During her time in NXT, they renamed her as Billie Kay. In the initial days, Kay chased for the NXT Women's Championship and failed. In October, she teamed up with Peyton Royce.
In December, the duo started feuding with Asuka for the NXT Women's Championship but failed to win. At TakeOver San Antonio, both Kay and Royce took part in a fatal 4 way for the NXT Women's Championship and lost.
The IIconics (2018-2020)
After WrestleMania 34, Kay and Royce debuted on SmackDown and attacked Charlotte. The IIconics defeated Asuka and Becky Lynch on SmackDown. At Super Show Down, they defeated Asuka and Naomi in their hometown of Australia. In January, they both entered the inaugural Royal Rumble but lost.
In 2019, they entered the Elimination Chamber for the inaugural WWE Women's Tag Team Championships and lost to Boss n Hug Connection. At WrestleMania 35, they won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. On Raw, they lost the titles to Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. After losing the titles, they spent the year in tag team competition but couldn't regain the titles.
In 2020, the duo returned to face Bliss and Cross but lost. On RAW, they were defeated by the Riott Squad, which led the duo to disband.
The Resume (2020-2021)
Kay was drafted to SmackDown and started her journey as a solo competitor. She debuted a new character who would approach superstars to join forces by showing her impressive resume. At WrestleMania 37, she teamed with Carmella but failed to win the tag team turmoil. After Mania, they released her from her contract.
Impact Wrestling (2021-Present)
In October, Kay and Lee formed The IInspiration and debuted on Impact Wrestling. At Bound for Glory, they won the Impact Knockout Tag Team Championship. The duo is currently facing The Influencers and set to face them at Hard to Kill 2022.
