Branislav Ivanovic: A Brief Biography
Branislav Ivanović is a Serbian football player, who plays for the Premier League club Chelsea. He is an adaptable defender who can operate as a right back or as a right sided center back. He is fondly nick named \"Bane\" and has a son named Stefan. Ivanović inaugurated his career at Serbia, playing for Remont, FK Srem and OFK Beograd , where he obtained his first cap for Serbia. Thereafter, he moved to Russia to play for Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2006 where he scored three goals, made 26 appearances and won the Russian Cup in 2007. Thereafter Ivanović transferred to Chelsea on a three and a half year contract for a whopping €13 million. While in Chelsea, he has appeared in 118 matches and scored 11 goals. He played for Serbia at his first international tournament in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Ivanović played with the Serbia national football team and took part in both the season 2006 and 2007 U-21 Championships. Ivanović is known for his accurate crossing ability, powerful headers, and his versatility of playing both at right back and centre back, making him an important tactical player.
