Daniel Dubois began boxing at nine to stay out of trouble in South London. Training at the Peacock Gym in Canning Town under Tony and Martin Bowers, he had around 75 amateur bouts, winning two English schoolboy titles, two junior ABAs, the CYPs, and the British Seniors.
He competed twice at the European Youth Championships and won gold at multi-nation tournaments in Tammer (Finland) and Brandenburg (Germany). Though initially part of the Great Britain Olympic team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Dubois turned professional at an early age, signing with promoter Frank Warren of Queensberry Promotions.
