Daryll Neita: A Brief Biography

Daryll Neita is a British track and field athlete born on 29th August 1996. She hails from London in England. Daryll specializes in sprinting and represents Great Britain and England in 100m Sprints.

Background:

Daryll Neita was born and brought up in London, United Kingdom. She began to pursue her interest in running at a young age. Her talent was spotted by her mother and decided to enroll her at the local athletics club but she was too young to join.

Daryll attended a school in her hometown and had participated in several school competitions while studying at the primary level. After completing her primary education, she joined the Shaftesbury Barnet athletics club. In 2012, Drayll won the Silver medal in 100m at the English Schools’ Championships and a 100m title at the UK School Games.

In 2013, after completing her school education, she joined Oaklands College in St.Albans and became a member of Oaklands Wolves Athletics Academy. She had represented them at SEAA and SESSA Championships.

Daryll Neita is currently residing in Florida, United States, where she is training under Rana Reider.

Rise to Glory:

Daryll Neita made her first national appearance at the 2010 England U15 Athletics Championships, where she finished 4th in 100m Sprints. In 2012, she won two Silver medals in 60m and 200m Indoor at the SEAA Indoor Championships. That year, in June, Daryll finished 5th in the 100m at the England Athletics Championships.

In 2014, As a student-athlete, Daryll clinched the 100m title at the SESSA Championships. The following year, she won the 60m Indoor title at the England U20 Indoor Championships. At the 2015 European Junior Athletics Championships, Daryll lost a Bronze medal by 0.01s and finished 4th in 100m with a timing of 11.69s.

At the 2016 British Athletics Championships, Daryll took home the Silver medal in 100m. She would go on to win two consecutive Silver medals (2017 and 2018) and a Bronze (2019) in 100m Sprints. In 2018, Daryll took home the Silver medal in 100m at the British Indoor Championships.

Daryll Neita is the current World No.23 Women 100m Sprinter with 1243 points. She holds a national record along with the Great Britain relay team in the 4x100m Relay.

Major Achievements:

Daryll Neita made her senior international debut at the 2016 European Championships, where she helped the Great Britain relay team to win the Silver medal in the 4x100m Relay in Amsterdam, Netherland. That year, in August, she competed in her debut Olympics at the Rio Olympics and took home the Bronze medal in the 4x100m Relay.

At the 2017 World Athletics Championships, Daryll anchored the Great Britain relay team to the Silver medal in the 4x100m Relay, while she was placed 13th in the 100m semifinals. The following year, she clinched the 4x100m title at the European Athletics Championships.

In 2019, Daryll successfully anchored the Great Britain relay team to a second consecutive Silver medal at the World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.



Daryll Neita is eyeing to qualify for her second Olympics at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and shall be competing in 100m Sprints and 4x100m Relay.
