Diego Lopes was born in Manaus, Amazonas in Brazil on December 30, 1994. He started training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu in his childhood. Lopes started competing as early as 7, when he turned 16, Lopes earned a purple belt in the combat sports discipline and gradually turned to mixed martial arts.
