Emerson Gomes de Moura: A Brief Biography
Emerson Gomes de Moura (also known as Memo) is a Brazilian football player who currently plays as a defensive midfielder for Jamshedpur FC in the Indian Super League.
Memo was born on February 14, 1988 in Bonito, Brazil. Although his main position is defensive midfield, he can also play at central midfield and as a right-back. He is a right footed player. His current market value is £180k.
Background
Memo started his professional career with Pernambuco side Santa Cruz Futebol Clube. He became an integral part of the club and was named in the 2012 Campeonato Pernambuco selection.
He scored a memorable goal for Santa Cruz in the 2012 Copa de Brasil first round. This was his only goal in his ten year long professional football career.
Despite playing professional football for ten years, Memo hasn't earned a national call-up for the Brazil national team.
Club Career
In 2013, Memo joined Ponte Preta on a loan deal. On 7 July, he moved to Oeste on loan as Ponte Preta had other options. He then returned to Santa Cruz at the end of 2013.
He had a stint with Linense in Campeonato Paulista and then switched to Mogi Mirim Esporte Clube on 8 August 2015.
In the following year, he represented Itumbiara Esporte Clube and America Futebol Clube.
He made his Indian Super League debut on October 6, 2016 playing for Delhi Dynamos FC against Chennaiyin FC.
On December 27, 2016, he returned to Brazil and signed with America (RN). After being released from the club on 17 April 2017, he signed with fourth tier club Fluminense de Feira Futebol Clube.
Memo then returned to the Indian Super League and signed for Jamshedpur FC in August 2017.
