Erik Jones is a professional American stock car racing driver known for his smooth driving style on the track. He is from Byron, Michigan, and was born on May 30, 1996. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No.43 Chevrolet Camaro for Legacy Motor Club. Jones began his racing career at the age of seven and started racing in stock cars at the age of thirteen. Jones had an early racing career, he became the youngest winner in NASCAR Truck Series history at just 16 years old. He also won the NASCAR Xfinity Series Rookie of the Year title in 2016.

In his transition to the NASCAR Cup series, he has seen three victories which includes the win at Southern 500 in 2019 and 2022. As of August 2024, Erik Jones is in his eighth full season in the NASCAR Cup Series currently ranking at 27 with over 361 points, driving the iconic No. 43 for Legacy Motor Club. He currently has nine wins in the Xfinity Series and seven wins in the Truck Series.

Jones found his interest in racing at the age of seven and started with quarter-midget racing. He spent his childhood competing in various local and regional events, where he gained recognition for his natural talent. When Erik Jones was 13, Jones switched to stock car racing, moving towards the door stock car racing.

In 2010, Jones started competing in the ASA Late Model Series and made heads turn by becoming the youngest winner of the Oktoberfest race at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway. In 2011, he joined the Champion Racing Associations CRA All-Star Tour and won the series championship in his rookie year. Jones's performances in his early career races were always standouts, including the wins at prestigious events like Governor's Cup 200 and the Snowball Derby, making him one of the most promising young talents in motorsports.

By the age of 15, Jones moved to the ARCA Racing Series and became the first-ever driver to compete at such a young age. He had a successful career in ARCA which paved the way for his entry into NASCAR’s Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series in 2013. He was signed by Kyle Busch Motorsports and made history by becoming the youngest driver to win a race in NASCAR’s Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway over Ross Chastain at the age of seventeen.
