Paredes started his footballing career at Santiago Morning club in 1996. He was promoted to the senior team in the year 2000.

Rise to Glory
Paredes made 171 senior appearances for his youth club Santiago Morning. He scored 94 goals in his time there.
He was loaned off to Chilean club Puerto Montt in 2002 and made only 18 appearances, scoring 9 goals. In 2004 U. Concepción got Paredes on loan, he appeared in 17 games and scored 7 goals for the side.
Paredes played for Cobreloa on loan in 2007, he appeared in 29 games for them and scored 10 goals.
In 2009 Paredes joined Chilean league team Colo-Colo. The Chilean was brilliant for the team in his opening season and helped them win the Torneo Clausura tournament. He played 89 matches and scored 50 goals with the club.
