Fabian Orellana: A Brief Biography
Fabian Ariel Orellana Valenzuela is a professional football player of Chilean origin. He was born on 27 January, 1986 in Santiago, Chile. He represents his country at the international level and also plays for the Spanish club SD Eibar. He plays as a winger for the team.
Background
Orellana started playing football at a very young age. He started his career with the club Colo-Colo. After this, he moved to the club Audax Italiano in 2000 and played for them for five years. Right from the start of his career, he was seen as somebody who would make it to the national team.
Debut
Orellana made his debut in the Primera Division when he was just 18 years old. He made his debut at the international level for Chile in 2007, when he was 21 years of age.
Rise to glory
Orellana rose to prominence very quickly in his career. After scoring his debut at the Primera division level, he went on to score 12 goals in a total of 38 games and helped his team finish at the third place in Apertura.
He scored his first international goal on 15 October, 2008 in a World Cup qualifier against Argentina in Santiago. That was the only goal scored in the match. On 10 October 2009, he also scored a goal in a match in Colombia and helped his team qualify for the World Cup after 10 years.
He also got to play in the 2008 Toulon tournament with the Under-20 team and helped them finish at the second place.
Club career
Orellana started his youth career with Colo-Colo and then moved to Audax Italiano. He started his senior career with the same team in the year 2005 and went on to play for them till 2009. On 23 May 2009, Fabian signed with Udinese Calcio in Italy.
After signing with them, he was almost immediately loaned to Xerez CD, a club in the Spanish Segunda division. He played for them for one year and then was loaned to the club Granada in 2010.
In 2011, he signed with Granada. In September of the same year, he was again loaned to the club Celta de Vigo. He played for them for six years, one year while being on loan and the next four years as their property.
On 31 January 2017, he signed a four-month deal with Valencia CF.
