German Dario Lux: A Brief Biography
Germán Darío Lux is an Argentine footballer who plays for Deportivo de La Coruña in Spain, as a goalkeeper. Nicknamed Poroto, Lux joined Club Atlético River Plate\'s youth ranks aged 16, and made his first division debuts in 2001. Lux signed a four-year deal with RCD Mallorca in 2007-08, as a backup to youth graduate Miguel Ángel Moyà, but benefitted from an injury to the latter to appear in 10 La Liga games during the season. Lux was promoted to starter, but lost his job in January 2009, with the signing of Israeli Dudu Aouate from Deportivo de La Coruña. In the following two seasons, Lux was almost exclusively restricted to Copa del Rey matches with Mallorca. Lux was instrumental in the gold medal triumph of the national team, which netted 17 goals during the 2004 Summer Olympics. During the 2005 Confederations Cup, he had a poor performance, allowing ten goals in five matches, four of them in the final.
