Kongo Kong: A Brief Biography
Although Kong had made his in-ring debut in 1998, he got the recognition after signing with Indiana, USA based Extreme Wrestling Federation (EWF) in 2004. He fought all the EWF matches with the ring name Osyris. On 13 March 2004, he appeared in his first EWF Title match, losing to Big Cheez. However, he won couple of fights in a row after his first title defeat. During his EWF career, he had also teamed up with Hurricane for several tag team games.
Kongo Kong's history
On 12 January 2007, Kong won his first ever EWF Heavyweight Title, defeating Marc Houston. Apart from EWF, Kong also appeared in various other wrestling promotions such as Championship International Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Renaissance, Real Action Pro Wrestling, Juggalo Championship Wrestling, Insanity Pro Wrestling, Can-Am Rising, New Era Wrestling etc.
Global Force Wrestling
Kong began his GFW career on 13 June 2015 during the GFW Grand Slam World tour.
In his first match, Ring Of Honour fame Moose had defeated him. Kongo featured in the three games during the tour and lost all of them.
Kongo’s first GFW win came in a rematch against Aldis.
On 23 October 2015, he won GFW Global Championship, beating Brian Myers and Kevin Kross in a three-way number one contenders match.
Kongo Kong Impact Wrestling
Kong garnered worldwide fame with the Impact Wrestling, fighting under his new manager Jimmy Jacobs.
Kongo's debut in Impact Wrestling came on 13 April 2017 when he surprisingly attacked Braxton Sutter.
His in-ring debut came later on 20 April. In his debut match, he introduced himself in the Impact Wrestling by defeating Chris Silvio.
In the very next match, he beat Matt Sigmon to make two victories in a row.
On 25 May 2017, Kongo teamed up with Kevin Matthews, popularly known as KM.
After getting involved into a feud with the team of Braxton Sutter and Mahabali Shera, he got a Gauntlet match for the first ever Sony Six Invitational Trophy at Mumbai.
The trophy was eventually won by Mahabali Shera.
In July 2017, continuing his feud with Sutter and Mahabali Shera, Kong teamed up with KM and Laurel Van Ness for a six-person tag team match. However, Kong’s team lost the match against the trio of KM, Shera and Allie.
