Early Life and Career
Nelson, a native of Huntsville, Ontario, Canada, started his MMA career in 2011 as an amateur with a 2-1 record. He then moved on to local professional promotions in North America, winning the Elite 1 MMA Featherweight Championship and competing for the Lightweight Championship in TXC MMA. He later signed with RXF in Romania, Europe, and then with UFC in 2018.
Kyle Nelson’s Career in UFC
Kyle Nelson made his UFC debut in December 2018, where he was defeated by TKO in the second round by Carlos Diego Ferreira. He then returned to featherweight and lost a submission match against Matt Sayles. He then got his first UFC victory by TKO in the first round against Marco Polo Reyes.
Nelson was scheduled to fight Sean Woodson in a catchweight bout but had to pull out due to visa issues. He then lost his next two fights against Billy Quarantillo by KO and Jai Herbert by unanimous decision. His next scheduled fight is against Choi Doo-ho on February 4, 2023.
