Lash Legend is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE and drafted to NXT, as of January 2025. She is a former college and professional basketball player and played in the WNBA (Women's NBA) where she played three games for Seattle Storm. In NXT, she is a member of the Meta-Four stable alongside Naom Dar, Oro Mensah and Jakara Jackson.

Lash Legend Early Life and Basketball Career

Lash Legend's real name is Anriel Howard. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, USA on the 6th of May in 1997. She had been quite interested in sports since a very young age. Boasting impressive high school credentials, including a 100th overall ranking and 15th position for forwards in the 2015 class, Howard attracted attention from top college programs. She ultimately went to Texas A&M, contributing for three seasons before transferring to Mississippi State for her senior year.

During her time at Texas A&M, Anriel Howard established herself as a dominant force on the boards, amassing a staggering 1,002 rebounds, a feat unmatched in program history. Howard's rebounding prowess didn't stop there. In a 2016 NCAA tournament game, she etched her name in the record books by grabbing a staggering 27 rebounds, setting a new benchmark for the tournament.

Her college basketball career earned her a spot in the 2019 WNBA Draft. During the draft, she was picked as the 24th overall pick by the Seattle Storm. She made her professional debut with the team on May 24 against the Minnesota Lynx. She played a total of three games with the Storm. During these three games, she totaled up five points and three rebounds and was on the pitch for a combined 23 minutes. However, she was released by the team early into her first season, following which Howard decided to pursue a career in professional wrestling.

Lash Legend WWE Career

WWE Debut (2020 - 2023)

In December 2020, Anriel Howard made her first move in the world of professional wrestling and signed a contract with WWE. On September 21, 2021, she transitioned from athlete to entertainer, making her televised debut on NXT alongside Franky Monet under the newly adopted ring name, Lash Legend. Legend's NXT persona quickly evolved, leading to her hosting her own pre-recorded talk show segment titled "Lashing Out with Lash Legend" starting September 28th. Finally, on December 10th, 2021, she stepped into the ring for the first time on 205 Live, defeating Amari Miller.

In February 2022, Lash Legend and Amari Miller teamed up for the Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, but unfortunately, their journey was cut short in the first round by the formidable duo of Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray. The loss fueled tensions between the teammates, leading to a heated argument and ultimately a match where Legend emerged victorious. Legend's next challenge arose in the form of the rising star, Nikkita Lyons. A tense interview on "Lashing Out with Lash Legend" sparked a rivalry between the two wrestlers, culminating in two consecutive defeats for Legend against Lyons on NXT. At Spring Breakin', Legend teamed with Natalya, but they were unable to overcome the combined forces of Cora Jade and Lyons.

Legend then entered the NXT Women's Breakout Tournament but fell just short of the final, losing to Roxanne Perez in the semifinals. She then picked up a feud against Alba Fyre. However, her attempts to dominate Fyre were unsuccessful, resulting in back-to-back losses. She then faced a string of losses against Fallon Henley, Wendy Choo, Shotzi, and Lyra Valkyria. From August 2022 onwards, Legend started teaming up with Jakara Jackson. Their first televised appearance as a team on NXT Level Up in November ended up in a loss against Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley.

The Meta Four (2023 - Present)

At NXT Battleground on May 28, 2023, Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson interfered in a British Rounds Rules match, helping Noam Dar retain the NXT Heritage Cup against Dragon Lee. Shortly after, Dar introduced Legend, Jackson, and Oro Mensah as The Meta-Four. On February 20, 2024, Legend unsuccessfully challenged Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Championship in an open challenge. She also competed in a six-woman ladder match at NXT Battleground to crown the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion but did not win. At Week 1 of NXT: The Great American Bash on July 30, Legend and Jackson failed to defeat The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Prior to the match, The Meta-Four turned face after Oro Mensah began feuding with Ethan Page, who had attacked Mensah and Dar backstage in May.

On October 11, Legend and Jackson made their main roster debut on SmackDown, unsuccessfully challenging Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. The following week, Legend secured her first main roster singles victory by defeating Piper Niven. On the October 22 episode of NXT, Legend and Jackson’s match against IYO SKY and Kairi Sane ended in a no contest due to interference from Niven and Chelsea Green. On SmackDown, it was announced that Belair and Cargill would defend their titles in a fatal four-way tag team match at Crown Jewel against Legend and Jackson, SKY and Sane, and Niven and Green, where Belair and Cargill retained. On the November 29 episode of SmackDown, Legend replaced Cargill in the preliminary round of the Women’s United States Championship tournament but lost to Michin in a triple threat match also involving Niven.

Lash Legend Boyfriend

Lash Legend is dating fellow WWE NXT Superstar Trick Williams, as of January 2025. On the March 19, 2024, episode of NXT, Williams and Legend kissed each other and made their relationship official. In an interview with "Stay Busy", Trick Williams opened up on his relationship with Legend.

"The reception I feel like we both have gotten has been amazing. It's cool and she's just a good person, man. Knowing how hard she works, how much time she puts into the craft, and aside from that like selfishly, how she has supported me and everything that I have going on. So to see her get that love reciprocated and how people are drawn to her and love her and appreciate her for her talent, it's awesome to see ... So her being able to show what she can do, it's just getting started but man, she deserves that moment, and I'm sure this is just the beginning for her."
