Lucas Digne is a professional French footballer who plays at full left-back position.His lightning fast dodges and sharp passing skills helped him to sustain in the French national team at different age groups and eventually in the core national team of France. He also played for some popular clubs like Lille, PSG, Rome and Barcelona.
Background
Lucas was born on 20 July 1993 in Meaux city of Ile-de-France region. He began his youth career in 1999 while playing for a local club, Mareuil-sur-Ourcq.After having a spell of 3 years, he switched to Crepy-en-Valois for a 3 year youth set-up. He went on to play for an old and popular French club, Lille OSC, in the French association football.
Senior career
After playing for 6 years in the youth academy of Lille, the club signed a professional contract of 3 years with him on 27 July 2010. He made his professional debut on 26 October 2011 in a 6–1 victory over Sedan in the Coupe de la Ligue. During his tenure, he made 49 appearances for the club and played vital role in the defense. He also scored at 2 times.
On 17 July 2013, Digne signed a five-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain for a whooping €15 millions. He played 29 games for PSG and showed his perfect aerial prowess at crucial time. He was the member of the squad in Coupe de la Ligue and of Trophee des Champions, for 2013 and 2014 seasons.
He was signed on loan for €2.5 millions by a Italian football club based in Rome, A.S. Roma.
Digne made 33 appearances in the season and even scored at 3 times.
His decorated career earned him accolades and he was signed by the very prestigious, Barcelona for a fee was €16.5 million. On 14 August 2016, Digne made his first appearance for Barcelona in a 0–2 victory against Sevilla in the 2016 Supercopa de Espana.
