Manoj Kumar: A Brief Biography
Manoj Kumar Kaltagdia is an Indian boxer who won a gold medal in the light welterweight division at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He competed World Championship in 2009, losing 4-5 to Brazilian Myke Carvalho in the first round. Two years later he picked up a bronze medal in the 2007 Asian Boxing Championship and another one in the 2009 Czech Grand Prix. 2007 proved even more fruitful for Manoj as he raked in gold medal at the YMCA International Boxing Tournament. He has previously won a Gold medal in YMCA Boxing Tournament in 2004 and a silver medal in the YMCA Boxing Tournament, 2003. Though he didnt proceed beyond the quater finals of the 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, he managed to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics. At the Olympic games, Manoj lost his pre-quarterfinal bout against world number 1 Tom Stalker of Great Britain in a controversial manner.
