Pablo Hernandez: A Brief Biography
Pablo Hernández Domínguez is a Spanish professional footballer who currently plays for Championship side Leeds United. He was born on 11 April 1985 in Castellon, Spain. Hernandez currently plays as an attacking midfielder and sometimes as a winger, holding the no.19 shirt at Leeds. He is good at picking out dangerous passes, and is spot-on in corner delivery and free kicks. Hernandez's creativity can help any team achieve that extra spark to score goals.
Background
Pablo Hernandez started playing football in his local town of Castellon, starting at AVV Rafalafena and then joining Castellon. He was inducted into the youth system of La Liga side Valencia, who saw a bright striker in him. He played as a striker for the B-team where he stayed for a while before being selected for the main side. A few loan spells endured before he could become a regular starter for them.

Debut
Hernandez made his professional debut for Valencia in the end of the 2005-06 season as he came on as a sub to play for 20 minutes in a 1-2 away loss to Osasuna.
On 20 June 2009, Hernandez was given his first cap in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup held in South Africa. He came as a sub in the 60th minute for David Villa, playing against the hosts.
Rise to Glory
Pablo Hernandez had been under the constant supervision of Luis Aragones, who was also the Getafe manager when Hernandez was playing. After observing him for quite a while, he was called up to the 32-man squad for UEFA Euro 2008. He did not make the final team and was in the reserves due to the presence of other better midfielders such as Xavi, Andres Iniesta and David Silva.
In 2009, Hernandez was called up to the squad to be a part of the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. He played his first match in a 2-0 win against South Africa. He played two more matches in the UEFA Euro qualifying rounds in 2010, coming on as a sub against Lithuania and Scotland. His fourth cap came in a friendly against Austria in a 5-1 win where he scored his first international goal, which also remains his last.
Hernandez was on the bench for six other matches and could have earned more caps if not Spain’s utterly dominant team.
Club Career
Pablo Hernandez played a total of 157 games for Valencia, which was his first club. He was bought by Getafe in between where he played 43 games, scoring 8 goals and providing 5 assists. He was reacquired by Valencia for a million euros and he became a regular starter for the side. He scored 25 goals and provided 28 assists over four seasons, which also included two loan moves to Onda and Cadiz.
On 31 August 2012, Hernandez moved to the Premier League by signing for Swansea City for a club-record fee of £5.55 million. He played 71 games in all competitions scoring 5 goals and providing 19 assists in two seasons. Two years later, he moved to Qatari club Al-Arabi where he played 13 games, scoring 6 goals. A loan move to Al-Nasr was also involved during the time.
Hernandez was loaned out to Rayo Vallecano in 2015, where he was regular starter. Another loan deal involving Leeds United came in 2016. He currently plays for Leeds United. He has played 74 games so far, scoring 13 goals and providing 17 assists in all competitions.
