Primo: A Brief Biography

Edwin Carlos Colón is a Puerto Rican professional wrestler signed with WWC. He is best known for his work with WWE as Primo Colon. He is a former two-time WWE Tag Team Champion.

Professional Wrestling Career

WWC (1997-2007)

Colón began his wrestling career with WWC. He won several championships and had various feuds in the company. Shortly after his rise in the promotion, WWE noticed Colon and signed him to a developmental contract.

WWE (2007-2020)

In 2007, Colón started working with FCW. He formed a tag team with Eric Perez and became the inaugural FCW Tag Team Champion. After losing the title, Colón moved to RAW.

Carlito (2008-2010)

Colón debuted on RAW as Primo Colón and teamed up with Carlito. Primo and Carlito, now known as The Colóns became the WWE Tag Team Champions on SmackDown. At WrestleMania 25, The Colóns defeated The Miz and Morrison to unify the title. The Colóns lost the title to Edge and Chris Jericho at The Bash. In 2010, Primo became the pro at NXT and began a romantic storyline with AJ Lee.

Epico (2011-2020)

After Carlito was released, Primo began teaming with Hunico and Epico. In 2012, Epico and Primo defeated Air Boom on a live event to win the WWE Tag Team Championship. On RAW, the team lost the titles to Kofi Kingston and R-Truth. The team went back and forth to SmackDown and NXT but went on a losing streak.

In 2013, they repackaged the duo as Los Matadores along with El Torito. They involved the team in feuds against 3MB and Prime Time Player but were unsuccessful.

After three years, they repackaged the duo as The Shinning Stars. The team was part of various Survivor Series teams and André the Giant battle royals but failed to make an impact. In 2020, Colón was released by the company due to the pandemic.

Return to WWC (2020-Present)

In 2020, The Colóns returned to WWC and started pursuing championships.
