Rafal Kurzawa: A Brief Biography

Rafał Kurzawa is a Polish professional football player. He was born on 29 January 1993 in Wieruszów, Poland. He mainly plays the role of a Left Wing midfielder but plays equally well as a Central Midfielder. He currently plays for Górnik Zabrze. He came to limelight in the 2017-2018 season.


Background


Kurzawa started taking interest in the sport of football in 2005 and joined Sokół Świba. He played there till 2006 when he joined the club Marcinki Kępno. He played in Marcinki Kępno for four years and then joined Gornik II in 2010. Again, after one year of play in the junior squad, he joined Gornik in 2011, but this time it was Górnik Zabrze- the senior side.

Debut


On Nov 13, 2017, Kurzawa made his international debut by playing for Poland against Mexico in a friendly.

He never scored an international goal, even though he appeared in three friendly matches for the Poland national team.


Club career


On July 1, 2011, Kurzawa was transferred to Górnik Zabrze from Górnik II, where he was playing since 2010 and the Górnik Zabrze club also was his first senior club. He remained there till 2012 until he was loaned.


On 4 August 2012, he was loaned to ROW 1964 Rybnik for one season. On 31st December, 2013 he joined Górnik Zabrze as the loan period ended. In this old club of his he played in 30 Lotto Ekstraklasa matches. He scored 2 goals in the matches. The goals came in the matches against Wisla Kraków and Termalica on 3rd December 2017 and 19th February 2018 respectively.


For the same club, he also played in quarter-finals 2nd leg against Chojniczanka and semi-finals 1st leg against Legia Warszawa matches of the polish cup held on 28th november 2017 and 3rd april 2018 respectively.
