Early Life and Career
Before becoming a professional Muay Thai fighter, Rodtang Jitmuangnon trained and competed in local amateur tournaments in his home province of Nong Bua Lam Phu. He quickly gained a reputation as a skilled and aggressive fighter with a relentless pace and powerful strikes.
As he progressed through the ranks, he won numerous regional and national titles, including the Thai, World, and Intercontinental Muay Thai championships. In addition to his success as a fighter, Rodtang is also known for his humble and gracious personality, which has helped him to become a popular figure both inside and outside of the Muay Thai community.
Despite his young age, Rodtang has already achieved a great deal of success in his career, including having amassed 250 wins under his belt before turning 21. He is widely considered one of the best Muay Thai fighters in the world.
Rodtang Jitmuangnon’s Career in One Championship
Rodtang Jitmuangnon made his first appearance in ONE Championship in the promotion’s Super Series on September 22, 2018. At ONE Championship: Conquest of Heroes in Jakarta, he faced Sergio Wielzen and won the fight via unanimous decision.
On August 2, 2019, Rodtang faced Jonathan Haggerty at ONE Championship: Dawn of Heroes in Manila for the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship, after Haggerty had previously challenged him at ONE Championship: For Honor. The fight began slowly, but in the fourth round, Rodtang knocked Haggerty down and ultimately won the match by unanimous decision, earning the title of ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion. He then went on to defend his title for the first time on October 13, 2019, at ONE Championship: Century, where he defeated Walter Goncalves via a split decision.
Rodtang has since successfully defended his title multiple times against fighters like Haggerty and Petchdam Petchyindee Academy. His performances have cemented his spot as an all-time Muay Thai great.
On March 26, 2022, Rodtang Jitmuangnon squared off against one of the best MMA fighters of all time, Demetrious Johnson, in a special-rules fight. Rodtang was defeated via submission in the second round.
Rodtang defended his ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship for the fourth time on November 19, 2022, at ONE on Prime Video 4 against Joseph Lasiri, the reigning ONE strawweight Muay Thai champion. He won the match by unanimous decision.

On September 15, 2021, it was announced that Rodtang would be facing Demetrious Johnson, a former UFC flyweight champion and the winner of the 2019 ONE Flyweight Grand Prix. The fight was set to take place on December 5, 2021, and be the main event of ONE: X, the Singapore-based organization’s 10-year anniversary show. However, due to the pandemic, the event was moved to March 26, 2022.
This special-rules fight would have Rounds 1 and 3 fought under ONE Muay Thai rules and Rounds 2 and 4 fought under ONE MMA rules. Rodtang was defeated in the second round after being rendered unconscious via a rear-naked choke.

The first fight between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Jonathan Haggerty took place at ONE: Dawn of Heroes on August 2, 2019, in Manila. Haggerty, who was the champion at the time, had a strong start to the fight, landing a number of powerful teep kicks and head kicks on Rodtang. Rodtang and Haggerty faced each other in a highly anticipated rematch for the ONE Muay Thai flyweight world championship at ONE Championship: A New Tomorrow on January 10, 2020. The fight was held at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
The match started with a bang, as Rodtang came out with heavy punches and Haggerty was knocked down early in the first round. From that point on, Rodtang was in control of the match, showing his superior striking skills and powerful combinations. He dominated Haggerty for the rest of the fight and had him on the defensive for most of the time.
