Selvamani K.

Selvamani K is an Indian Kabaddi player who hails from Thekkampatti, Omalur Taluk, Salem, Tamil Nadu. Selvamani plays as a raider and was born on 28th April 1992. He is playing for the Harayana Steelers this year in the upcoming PKL in India, they bought him for ₹16.5 lakh.

Background

Kabaddi interested Selvamani when he was just nine years of age. Since then Selvamani has been eating, drinking, and worshipping Kabaddi. The raider received his first professional training at Tamil Nadu Amateur Kabaddi Association, TAKA, when he was in his fourth year of his diploma in Mechanical Engineering at CSI Polytechnic.

Rise to glory

The journey of success has been exponential for Selvamani in Pro Kabaddi League. Selvamani was first bought by Dabang Delhi into Pro Kabaddi League for an amount of just Rs. 2 lakhs but it was only till last year, 2017, that he became the costliest transfer of the season after being bought by Abhishek Bachchan's franchise, Jaipur Pink Panthers for a whopping sum of Rs. 73 lakhs.

Signature Move : Running Hand Touch

In this move, the raider uses his agility and combines it with the element of surprise to run and touch a defender with a full extension of his body and escape quickly to safety.

Major Achievements

With only four seasons in the Pro Kabaddi League, Selvamani has already crossed 100 raid points. With his swift nimble feet the raider has been absolutely amazing in the Do-Or-Die scenarios. In season three Selvamani bagged third highest number of Do-Or-Die raid points summing up to 25 points. Season four was even better as 27 of his 45 raid points came in Do-Or-Die raids.
