Veer Mahaan

Veer Mahaan is an Indian professional wrestler and former baseball player currently signed to WWE, performing on the Monday Night RAW brand. He is a member of the faction Indus Sher alongside Sanga and Jinder Mahal. His real name is Rinku Singh Rajput.

Early Life

Rinku Singh Rajput was born on August 8, 1988, in Gopiganj, Uttar Pradesh, India. He belongs to a poor family and did not have a very easy childhood. Growing up, he liked playing cricket and throwing javelin, even becoming a junior national javelin medalist.

The Million Dollar Arm

In 2008, Rajput took part in a television show The Million Dollar Arm. The contest was created by J.B. Bernstein and Ash Vasudevan who sought to bring out the best baseball players in India, a country known for its passion for cricket, a sport similar to Baseball. Out of 37,000 contestants who participated, it was Rinku who won the show, earning a grand prize of US$ 100,000 and a ticket to the USA alongside the show's runner-up Dinesh Patel.

He tried out for MLB scouts in late 2008 and was soon signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was also the subject to the film The Million Dollar Arm, a sports motivational film based on the story of his life.

Professional Wrestling Career

WWE (2018-Present)

In 2018, he signed with WWE and began working at NXT. In 2020, he teamed up with Sanga and formed Indus Sher. They were managed by Malcolm Bivens and they attacked Matt Riddle during their debut. A year later, Veer was moved to RAW where he aligned himself with Jinder Mahal and Shanky.

The trio feuded with Drew McIntyre before Mahal and Shanky were drafted to SmackDown. After months of vignettes, they repackaged Veer as Veer Mahaan. On RAW after WrestleMania 38, Veer Mahaan returned and attacked The Mysterios.

Over the next weeks, Mahaan would go on to wreak havoc on the RAW roster where he defeated a number of stars in singles matches including beating Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio in separate matches. He returned to NXT in late 2022 teasing a reunion with Sanga, formerly known as Saurav Gurjar. As a part of the 2023 WWE draft, The Indus Sher were drafted to Monday Night RAW, where they currently perform. Indus Sher is currently booked to face Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in a tag team match at WWE Superstar Spectacle 2023.
