Victor Sanchez Mata: A Brief Biography
Víctor Sánchez Mata is a Spanish footballer who plays for RCD Espanyol. A versatile player, he plays both central and defensive midfielder and is adaptable to all of the defensive positions. Sanchez kick started his career with FC Barcelona in July 2005. He appeared in 36 games and scored seven goals in the 2006-07 season. The following season he was promoted to the B squad, helping the team promote to Segunda División B, with 31 appearances and two goals to his credit. On 2 January 2008, Sánchez made his debut for Barcelona\'s first team as a right back. On 12 August 2009, Sánchez was off on a season long loan to newly promoted side Xerez CD. He scored his first goal for the club in a 3–0 home victory against Real Valladolid. The following season he joined Madrid\'s Getafe CF in a season long move. In June 2011, Sánchez and Barcelona mutually agreed to rescind the contract that linked the player to the club, following which he signed a two year contract with Swiss Super League outfit Neuchâtel Xamax.
