Wes Brown: A Brief Biography
Wesley Michael Brown is a former English professional footballer, who played largely as a centre-back throughout his career. Brown was born on 13 October 1979.
Brown began his career at the age of twelve with Manchester United.
Background
Brown began playing football at school, also he was trained at United's football Academy and at the age of twelve, he was absorbed into the academy.
At the age of 17 made it to the senior team.
Debut
In the year 1998, he made his debut at FA Premier League against Leeds United.
That season United cliched a treble by wrapping up the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League and Brown was part of it.
In 1999, he made his debut for England at international level. He was part of the England squad at the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Rise to glory
Brown was the premier choice for the right-back position.
He assisted Cristiano Ronaldo's goal in the 2008 Champions League final, which United ended up winning on penalties to complete a league and European double.
In 2004, he was the man of the match for his performance in the FA Cup semi-final win over Arsenal.
Club Career
Brown was part of Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers. Presently he is part of the Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters.
