Wolfgang Overath born on 29 September 1943 in Siegburg, Germany is a former West German footballer.

A genuine one-club man, Overath spent his whole professional career at 1. FC Köln. He represented to his nation three times in World Cup finals, coming full circle in 1974 with triumph on home ground.

Essentially an attacking midfielder, Overath was known for his passing capacity, method and his left foot.

An attacking midfielder, Overath began playing football at SSV Siegburg, yet spent the greater part of his profession at 1. FC Köln, seeming 765 times in the vicinity of 1962 and 1977 and scoring 287 goals.
