Yaya Toure: A Brief Biography
Gnegneri Yaya Toure aka Yaya Toure is an Ivorian footballer who plays for Premier League club Manchester City and the Côte d\'Ivoire national team. Touré is renowned for combining speed, passing ability, and physical power with technique. A versatile player, he has played the centre back and frequently plays as a box-to-box midfielder often switching from defensive and offensive positions throughout matches. Toure debuted at 18 starting at the Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas. His excellent performances helped him jump from one European club to another and eventually to Barcelona. He played over 100 matches for the club and was part of the historic 2010 Barcelona team which won six trophies in one season. Toure then found his niche after he moved to Premier League club Manchester City in 2010 where he has clinched a number of wins for the Citizens, most notably in the 2011 FA Cup semi-final and Final. He is also the younger brother of his Côte d\'Ivoire and Manchester City teammate Kolo Touré.
