Formula E, officially called ABB FIA Formula E Championship, is the highest class of open wheel racing that uses only electric-powered cars. The inaugural Formula E championship started in Beijing in September 2014.
The 2018-19 season is fifth edition of the Formula E championship which is sanctioned by the FIA. The all electric racing series has gained popularity over the years and a many former Formula One driver's have competed in the series.
The Formula E races (ePrix) are run in specially designed streets circuits around the world.
