In Adopt Me, your entire journey revolves around unlocking new pets and taking care of them. In turn, your adopted pets will grow and unlock new emotes and tricks. There is no numerical leveling system but a specific growth stage for your pets in this game. You can say that a pet's growth mechanic is the leveling system. However, this won't happen automatically and you will have to do some tasks for that.

As a beginner, you may find it tough to level up a pet. That's why, we have created this guide for you. Read on to learn everything about the pet stages in Adopt Me and how to level them up.

In this Roblox experience, there are six stages of growth that every pet goes through. Whenever you unlock a new pet, it comes in its "Newborn" stage. Consider it as the base level of every pet. Later, when you equip that pet and complete tasks, they become more experienced and grow. For your reference, here's a list of all the growth stages for a pet:

Newborn
Junior
Pre-Teen
Teen
Post-Teen
Full Grown

A fully grown pet is not the endgame while leveling them up. Once a pet enters its "Full Grown" stage, you can transform it into a Neon version. For that, you will need four of the same maxed-out pets.

As mentioned previously, you will need the same x4 Full Grown pets to make a Neon pet. You need to place all of them on the four platforms of Neon Cave to get a Neon version of them. Once you obtain the Neon pet, it will go back to its base level. However, this time, it will glow and won't be titled as a "Newborn". Instead, it will be promoted to its "Reborn" stage.

To make them grow or level up, you will need to complete tasks as you do for regular pets. A Neon pet goes through the following growth stages:

Reborn (Newborn)
Twinkle (Junior)
Sparkle (Pre-Teen)
Flare (Teen)
Sunshine (Post-Teen)
Luminous (Full Grown)

The final stage of a Neon pet's growth is Luminous. If you place four of the same Luminous pets on the Neon Cave platforms, you will transform them into their Mega Neon version.

How to level up pets in Adopt Me

Each pet in this game belongs to a specific rarity. The rarer the pet, the more number of tasks you will need to do to level it up. For example, to level up a Legendary pet, you will need to do more tasks as compared to a Common pet. Check below for the number of tasks to level up pets of different rarities:

Common Pet

Newborn - 3 Tasks
Junior - 6 Tasks
Pre-Teen - 11 Tasks
Teen - 16 Tasks
Post-Teen - 20 Tasks
Full Grown

Uncommon Pet

Newborn - 5 Tasks
Junior - 9 Tasks
Pre-Teen - 13 Tasks
Teen - 18 Tasks
Post-Teen - 25 Tasks
Full Grown

Rare Pet

Newborn - 10 Tasks
Junior - 20 Tasks
Pre-Teen - 30 Tasks
Teen - 40 Tasks
Post-Teen - 50 Tasks
Full Grown

Ultra-Rare Pet

Newborn - 12 Tasks
Junior - 25 Tasks
Pre-Teen - 36 Tasks

Legendary Pet

Newborn - 13 Tasks
Junior - 26 Tasks
Pre-Teen - 38 Tasks

To level up a Neon pet, you will do the same number of tasks as normal pets. For instance, to level up a Common Neon pet from Reborn to Twinkle, you will need to do three tasks. This is the same as leveling up a regular Common pet from Newborn to Junior.
