Crossblox has you participate in high-speed shootouts against other Robloxians to secure the win. This first-person shooter features two Zombie modes: the Infection Mode and the Evolution Mode, a unique twist that adds modifiers like a transformation system of the same name and faction-specific roles.
Let’s take a look at the Evolution Mode and how to approach playing it as a member of either the Human or the Zombie faction.
Crossblox Evolution Mode rules
The basics of the Evolution Mode in Crossblox remain the same as the Infection Mode. All players are randomly placed in either the Human or the Zombie faction. The Humans must either survive until the timer runs out or kill all the Zombies to win. In contrast, the undead must transform every living player into a dead walker before the clock hits zero.
Where the Evolution Mode differs is in its Faction Abilities. These are unique traits assigned to players during the match. Some are randomly given to a small number of players, while others are universal.
The Humans only have the Hero and Zombie Hunter Faction Abilities, whereas the Zombies have access to Evolution, Terminator, Skill, and Undying Body. Using these Faction Abilities, each group must attempt to fulfill their respective tasks within the assigned time limit.
Zombie Faction Abilities
Having access to the lion’s share of abilities, the Zombie faction can overcome the odds stacked against them. Here’s a complete overview of what each of their Faction Abilities does:
- Evolution: Zombies can evolve by collecting Rage Points, which can be gathered by inflicting or taking damage, infecting Humans, and obtaining support boxes. A Zombie can transform multiple times until it reaches the MAX Form, unlocking access to the Terminator Zombie mode in the presence of a Human Super Hero.
- Terminator: A supremely powerful Zombie that is chosen randomly at the beginning of the match. The player receives a special badge that marks them as such on other people’s UI for the duration of the match.
- Skill: Zombies can use a skill by pressing G. This eliminates their relatively low movement speed for a few seconds, allowing them to catch up to others.
- Undying Body: A passive skill that allows Zombies to revive infinitely, no matter how many times a Human kills them.
Human Faction Abilities
Humans only have access to two Faction Abilities. Here’s how they work:
- Hero: The Hero is chosen randomly at the beginning of a match. They receive the exclusive SVD - Hero and Dual Uzi weapons, which also happen to be two of the strongest ones in the title. A Hero is the most formidable force on the Human team.
- Zombie Hunter: Humans can transform into a Zombie Hunter if they manage to survive until the end. Zombie Hunters are melee only, but they can permanently kill off Zombies, removing them from the match entirely. Without a Zombie Hunter, the Humans can never kill off the opposing team and must stall until the timer runs out.
