This can be especially troubling for new players with limited experience.

Where and how to get the Destiny Rod in Fisch

The Destiny Rod can only be purchased from an NPC on The Arch. Since the location doesn't appear on the waymaker, you must first travel to The Statue of Sovereignty and then go right from there to reach it. Once here, look for the Caleia NPC who sits near the edge and wears a feathered blue pirate hat.

The NPC will ask you to show them your bestiary. You can only purchase the Destiny Rod after completing 70% of your bestiary and have 190,000 C$ to spare. Fortunately, the high cost of the rod means you must keep fishing, ultimately helping you complete the bestiary.

Once you meet all the requirements, head back to The Arch and talk with the NPC to sell you the rod. Before the Desolate Deep update, most players considered the Destiny Rod to be the best fishing rod in the game. That said, it still holds up fairly well against other newer additions.
