Anime Defenders offers numerous units and features that players can utilize throughout the gameplay. Alongside them, various other items come in handy whether to level up or gain extra items after a match. Portal Hardner is one such item that is quite crucial, especially if you're trying to obtain better items and units in the game.

Where to obtain a Portal Hardener in Anime Defenders

While Portal Hardneres are crucial in the game, there is only one way to obtain them. You must reach level 30 and access the Athenyx's Realm. This new area was introduced in Update 5 of the game and is locked behind a level. Once inside, you can obtain Portal Hardener by completing the Battlepass.

The game rewards you with this crafting item in both the free and premium versions of the Battlepass in the Athenyx's Realm. If you don't wish to spend Robux on the game, then you can obtain the following number of this item:

8 Portal Hardners - Level 8 of Battlepass
10 Portal Hardners - Level 19 of Battlepass

Apart from the Battlepass, there is also a chance of challenges dropping the Portal Hardner as a reward. However, this is not always the case and you must check before entering any challenge in the Athenyx's Realm if they will drop this item.

What does a Portal Hardner do?

Portals are a great way for players to grind for amazing items and have a chance of obtaining units of the portal's rarity. However, you lose a portal after using it, and this is where the said crafting item comes into play.

This item lets you craft a Hardened Portal. When you use it, it will drop a portal of the same rarity as a reward, allowing you to complete the portal once again. The duplicate portal reward drops even if you fail to complete the portal the first time. This way, you have a second chance at tackling the challenge and trying your luck at obtaining a nice unit.

How to craft a Hardened Portal

The Portal Hardener is one of the crucial items for crafting a Hardened Portal in the game. However, you must obtain specific crafting items for each portal rarity. For example, to craft a Hardened Solar Portal of Mythic rarity, you must have 1x Solar Portal (Mythic) and 5x Portal Hardener.

Once you have these items, simply head over to the Summon section and interact with the Crafting option. Here, you can select the Hardened Portal you wish to craft and pay the required amount to complete the process.
