Badminton’s best will start their quest of becoming the World Champion from 10th of August in the beautiful city of Jakarta. This seven-day long tournament will witness the top guns of the game battling it out against other experienced and non-experienced playersThe tournament, which started in 1977 was held once every three years until 1983. Later it became a bi-annual tournament till 2005. In 2006, the Badminton World Federation(BWF) changed this tournament to an annual Championships. This year will mark the 22nd edition of the Badminton World Championships.In order to finish on the top of the podium, 64 shuttlers will sweat tears of blood in the men’s singles category of the tournament. #1 Kidambi Srikanth
Star Indian shuttler and World No. 3 Kidambi Srikanth was one of the most successful players in the world of badminton in 2014 but his performance has degraded this year ashe has been shown the exit doors in the second round in the last five tournaments in which he has participated.
Apart from winning the Indian Open Superseries in March, there are no other credible performances by this 22-year-old Guntur born player in 2015.
Srikanth, who is vying to qualify for the next years Olympic games, needs to be a lot more consistent with his performances if he wants to beat the best and become the World Champion. In the opening round, he will play the World No. 206 Michael Fariman of Australia.

Jan O Jorgensen, a World No. 2 Danish shuttler has been in decent touchin 2015. Apart from winning the German Open Grand Prix Gold in March, he finished as the runners-up in All England and Indonesia Open Superseries Premier. He also ended up as a semifinalist in Malaysia and Australia Open Superseries.
The 27-year-oldwill start his journey of World Championships against the 27th rankedThai ace, Boonsak Ponsana. The road to the finalis not going to be a walk in the park for the reigning European Champion as he could well face the World No. 9 Son Wan Ho of Korea in the third round. If he manages to get past Son, then the great Chinese wall, Lin Dan will stand in his way.
Even though Jorgensen hasnt won any big title in the last two years but on a given day he is capable enough of upstaging any player in the World of Badminton.

Lin Dan, popularly known as Superdan is undoubtedly a greatest singles player of all time. The 31-year-old maestro is a two-time Olympic, five-time world and five-time All England Champion.
Dan, who is currently ranked 5 in the world has been in good form over the past few months. He won the Badminton Asia Championships in April and was also part of theChinese team that won the gold medal in Sudirman Cup in May. He was a finalist in Malaysia Open and semifinalist in All England Open as well.
Even though he suffered a shocking first round defeat in Indonesia and Australia Open Superseries but with tons of experience, Dan has the potential and skills to become the World Champion for sixth time. He will take on the World ranked 72 Malaysian player,Sattawat Pongnairat in the opener.

Datuk Lee Chong Wei, a former World No. 1 Malaysian superstar, has made a remarkable comeback afterservinganeight-month ban over doping violation. He returned to International circuit with Sudirman Cup in May and since then he has played 19 matches; he emerged as the winner in 18 of them and lost just one.
He won all three matches he played in the Sudirman Cup tournament.He then took back to back titles by winning the U.S OpenGrand Prix Gold and Canada Open Grand Prix. In quarterfinals of Chinese Taipei open, he lost a tough three game match to World No. 1 Chen Long.
Ranked 45, this two-time Olympic and former World Championships silver medalist will start hisquest against the World No. 73 Kestutis Navickas of Lithuania.This is the first time that Chong Wei is not a seeded player in this tournament. He could well play the Indian No. 1 and World No. 3 Kidambi Srikanth in the Quarterfinals.

Reigning World Champion and World No. 1 Chen Long is in red hot form this year. He will enter into next weeks world championships asfirm favouriteHis overall win-loss record in 2015 is 29-3. He emerged as the Champion in All England, Malaysia Open Superseries, Star Australia Open and Chinese Taipei Grand Prix Gold.
Long, 26, has received bye in the opening round, his draw till the quarterfinals is not that tough as his top rivals likeLin Dan and Lee Chong Wei are in different half. He is then expected to meet Viktor Axelsen of Denmark or Indias H.S Prannoy. Axelsennearly overpowered him in the Australian Open finals in May.
