Plan BThe 2015 edition of Battleground will probably go down into history as the show where Seth Rollins visited Suplex City. The main event is indeed the biggest draw of the pay-per-view while the third battle between John Cena and Kevin Owens also deserves some mention. But apart from these two matches, the pay-per-view is a bit on the slow side. There is a lack of exciting storylines and build-ups which will eventually hurt the final product. WWE, however, could overcome this by skyrocketing the shock value in the show. And here is a look at some of the booking decisions they could use to add those extra twists into the pay-per-view.
#5 A Divas stable
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The Divas division is going through an interesting phase right now. Paige is going for an all-out war against the Bellas but unfortunately for her, none of the divas is willing to back her. None of the divas in the current main roster that is. The Bella army grew by one with the addition of Alicia Fox and is expected to expand further.
Numbers will be stacked against Paige due to the same and she will have to come up with some idea. The best booking decision WWE could do is to let Paige lead a stable. These stable could have girls from NXT since none of the Main roster divas is interested. If this formation happens at Battleground, it would be a great moment.
#4 Miz becomes awesome
The Intercontinental Championship will be defended in a Triple threat match at Battleground. Miz, Ryback and Big Show will be battling for the gold. Ryback comes into the match as the defending champion and will be the favourite to win it. Big Show will be the second favourite making Miz the underdog.
But what if Miz wins? While two behemoths battle each other, Miz could slip in and walk away with the title. Making Miz the champion will be a solid booking decision while it provides a shock value to the whole pay-per-view at the same time. It is a wild booking decision and is a short cut in which WWE could make the title scene interesting.
#3 Masked Kane returns
Bringing back the masked Kane is something WWE should do as soon as possible. The corporate Kane character is stale as hell and should be buried. Kane's career is almost at its conclusion now and letting him go out like this would be an insult. Dean Ambrose recently mentioned about the same.
Ambrose is the apt person who could bring the monster back. He has the ability to talk and will easily get into the head of Kane. If Kane comes out with the mask at Battleground, it is sure to make headlines. The mask will be a way out of the Authority for him as well. But all this can only happen if WWE is willing to give Kane one last push.
#2 Plan B
"A smart man always has a plan B". Triple H said this to Seth Rollins recently on Raw. There might be some huge implications in those words. The last time Hunter mentioned about Plan B was when Rollins turned on the Shield. If it is the same thing here, then WWE might be saving a big turn for Battleground.
Paul Heyman is the leading candidate here. The evil genius turning against Lesnar would end up being a great angle ahead of SummerSlam. Heyman could align with the Authority which would in turn put over Lesnar as a babyface. They could then have a rematch between Lesnar and Rollins at SummerSlam.
#1 Plan C
If WWE is not going for Plan B, then they might go for Plan C. In plan C, it is Seth Rollins who gets the babyface treatment. For this to happen, the Authority should help Brock Lesnar to win the title at Battleground. Triple H along with his stooges should destroy Rollins. This would attract sympathy towards him.
Lesnar joining hands with the Authority will make the faction even stronger. With this twist, WWE could set up a Triple H vs. Rollins match for SummerSlam while investing Lesnar elsewhere. Rollins being the good guy will freshen things up and at the same time, will take him away from the title picture without hurting anyone.
