Aaron Shackell Height

Aaron Shackell was born on September 11, 2004, in Arlington, Texas. He is a professional swimmer and will compete in the Paris Olympics in 2024. He swims for the Carmel Swim Club and specializes in freestyle events. Aaron attended Carmel High School and planned to go to the University of California. However, he took an Olympic red shirt and transferred to the University of Texas in May.

Coming from a very rich swimming culture family, Aaron's father, Nicholas, represented Team Great Britain in the 1996 Olympics. Nicholas won the 100-meter freestyle event at the 1994 British Championship. His siblings, Andrew and Alex, are also swimmers. Alex, his sister, will be on the USA Paris Olympic team and will take part in the 200-meter butterfly event. She also came in sixth in the 200-meter freestyle in the Olympic trials.

At the 400-meter freestyle finals at the Olympic trials, Aaron made a personal best swim time of 3:45.46 to claim the gold medal, an improvement from his preliminary swim time of 3:47.96. He also participated in the 200-meter freestyle event and produced a swim time of 1:47.37 to place 8th in the finals.

Aaron Shackell has swam for various clubs like Excel Aquatics, Nashville Aquatic Club, Ozark Zone Team, Ensworth Aquatics, Rockwood Swim Club, USA Swimming, Carmel High School, and Carmel Swim Club. His personal best records in 25 Y Free, 50 L Free, 100 Y Free, 200 Y Free, and 500 Y Free are 17.09, 23.21, 43.63, 1:32.85, and 4:15.35.
