Abbigail ‘Abbey’ Weitzeil was born on December. 3, 1996. Weitzeil is a highly accomplished American Swimmer best known for her speed in freestyle events, particularly in the 50 and 100 m distances.

An athlete with two Olympic events under her belt already, it was the 2015 USA Junior National Championship where Weitzeil first made a name for herself when she set the American record in the 100 m freestyle. She became the first junior to set a record in the meet. She then went to the University of California, Berkeley, where she was part of the Bear’s dominant women’s swimming team. Weitzeil was a competitor in the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio De Janeiro, where she won the gold medal as a member of the 4*100 m medley relay team along with a silver medal in the 4x100 freestyle category. Four years later she bagged two medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This time Weitzeil earned a silver medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay and a bronze in the 4x100m medley relay.
