Anna Peplowski was born on September 25, 2002, and is currently swimming for the Indiana Hoosiers and the U.S. Women's National Swimming Team. Anna went to Metamora Township High School and was the captain of the swim team. Anna decided to quit swimming for the Redbirds after her freshman year in order to build her college recruitment resume with the club swim route. In August 2021, she attended Indiana University Bloomington as a junior majoring in Sports Marketing and Management while pursuing a minor in public management.
Anna is a student-athlete, SAAC Executive Member, Leadership Council member, and Hoosier Hero. She is also a certified lifeguard and swim instructor. In June 2022, she was named the IU Scholar Athlete of the Month. Anna won a silver medal at the 2023 World Championships (LC) in Fukuoka in the 4×200 m freestyle event. In March 2024, she became the NCAA runner-up in 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, winning the silver and bronze medals, respectively. Three months later, she participated in the U.S. Olympic Trials and was placed 5th and 6th in the 200 m freestyle and 400 m freestyle, respectively.
Aside from being a professional swimmer, Anna is the co-leader of the Hoosier Core student group, which educates student-athletes about drug and alcohol abuse and sexual violence prevention. She was also the recruiting captain for future student-athletes. She is a seven-time individual Big Ten Champion, Tri-County Female Athlete of the Year, Team USA World Championship member, and relay silver medalist. Other teams she has swam with are Dev. Org. Competitive Swimming, Peoria Area Water Wizards, Bloomington Normal Swim Club, and Bloomington Normal YMCA Waves.
