Brooks Curry is an American freestyle swimmer who was born on January 22, 2001, in Dunwoody, Georgia, United States to parents Amy Curry and Scott Curry. He made his Olympic debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after qualifying in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay at the U.S. Olympic Trials. In the 2020 Olympic finals, he won a gold medal and became the first swimmer from Louisiana State University (LSU) to achieve Olympic gold. Additionally, he was the first LSU swimmer since 2000 to compete in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay at the Summer Olympics.
Apart from his Olympic accomplishments, Brooks also achieved numerous milestones, including an SEC bronze medal (2021), two SEC championships (2020, 2022), four SEC silver medals, an NCAA championship in the 50 and 100-meter freestyle, etc. Currently, he is gearing up to represent the United States for the second time at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
