For the 2024 Olympic trials, Connolly knew that she had only two chances to make it to the team, the 50m and the 100m freestyle. In the 100m freestyle, she swam a time of 54.72 seconds in the preliminary round, making the semi-final cut by just 0.03 seconds. A final swim-off was required to make the decision for the final spot and Connolly delivered again finishing in 53.92 seconds to beat Moesch and secure a spot in the final.
At the 2018 NCAA Division, Connolly won two silver medals and a bronze medal and she was also named the Southeastern Conference Swimmer of the Year. Connolly is an NCAA champion in the women’s 200-yard medley relay and a short-course world champion in the women’s 4*50mm freestyle relay. She is also a two-time medalist in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Despite facing uncountable challenges, Connolly didn’t lose sight of her goal and kept on working hard which says a lot about her character as a sportsperson.
