Alexandra "Alex" Walsh, a 2020 Olympic silver medalist, was born July 31, 2001. The swimmer has achieved success in medley events because of her versatility in all four strokes. She and her younger sister, Gretchen Walsh, are both Olympians and members of Team USA. They both went to the same school, Harpeth Hall School, and college, the University of Virginia.
At the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials, Walsh participated and achieved personal best performances to finish sixth in the 100-meter breaststroke and win a bronze medal in the 200-meter breaststroke. She qualified for the Olympic team and took home silver in her last event, the 200-meter individual medley. She has won a total of one Olympic medal, four long-course World Championships, and six short-course World Championships.
