Kathleen "Katie" Ledecky is an 11-time Olympic medalist, born on March 17, 1997. She dominates swimming with the most Olympic gold medals ever won—seven and 21 golds at the World Championships. At the World Aquatics Championships, she also set a record by winning 16 gold medals in a single event.
Ledecky holds the world records in the women's 800- and 1500-meter freestyle events (short course and long course), and she formerly held the record in the women's 400-meter long course freestyle event.
