On November 30, 2018, Katharine made a verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at North Carolina State University. Since joining the Wolfpack family, she has topped the ranks in both the 100 and 200 backstroke with a finishing time of 51.93s and 1:51.40, respectively, in 2019. At the Summer Universiade in Naples, she won gold medals for both the 100 m backstroke and 4×100 m medley events.
Katharine participated at the World Championship in Abu Dhabi in 2021, getting a total of six medals. Katharine took the gold medal at the 2023 Phillips 66 U.S. National Championships in the 50m backstroke and went on to pick up the bronze medal that same year at the Toyota U.S. Open Championships in the 100m backstroke. She also won the gold medal in the 4 x 100 m medley relay (women) and the bronze medal in the 100 m backstroke (women) in the 4 x 100 m medley relay (mixed event).
In 2024, she won the gold medal for 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle at the NCAA Championships. Katharine is a 5-time NCAA champion and a 25-time All-American for North Carolina State University.
