The American swimmer Katie Ledecky currently holds the world record in two disciplines, the women’s 800m freestyle and the women’s 1500m freestyle, in both the short-course and long-course. Her current world record in the 800m freestyle (short-course) is 7:57.42, which was set on November 5, 2022, at the 2022 FINA World Cup and her 1500m world record (short-course) is 15:08.24, which was set on October 29, 2022, at the 2022 Fina World Cup, in Toronto.

Her current 800m long-course world record is 8:04.79, which was set during the 2016 Summer Olympics on August 12 and her current 1500m long-course world record is 15:20

48, which was set by her during the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series on May 18. Katie Ledecky was also a former 400m freestyle world record holder.
