Lilly King Medals

Lillia Camille King, known as Lilly King, is a young yet celebrated American swimmer, specializing in breaststroke. She was born on February 10, 1997, in Evansville, Indiana. She stands 5 feet 8.5 inches tall (174 cm) and weighs 154 pounds (70 kg). Representing the United States, King competes primarily in breaststroke events and is affiliated with the Cali Condors and Indiana Swim Club. She previously swam for Indiana University during her college career.

Born and raised in Evansville, Indiana, King enhanced her training by joining the Newburgh Sea Creatures and participating in additional practices with a local masters team. She is the current world record holder in the long-course 100-meter breaststroke.

Lilly King has accumulated an impressive array of medals across various prestigious competitions. Representing the United States, she has earned a total of 20 gold, 9 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

At the Olympic Games, she secured 2 golds, 2 silvers, and 1 bronze. In World Championships (long course), she has an outstanding 11 golds and 2 silvers. In the short course version of the World Championships, she garnered 6 golds, 3 silvers, and 1 bronze. Additionally, at the Pan Pacific Championships, she won 1 gold and 2 silvers. Her Olympic achievements include gold medals in the 100 m breaststroke and the 4×100 m medley relay at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games, silver medals in the 200 m breaststroke and 4×100 m medley relay at the 2020 Tokyo Games, and a bronze in the 100 m breaststroke at the same Tokyo Games.

In the long course World Championships, she triumphed in various events such as the 50 m and 100 m breaststroke and medley relays across different years and locations, including Budapest, Gwangju, and Fukuoka. Her short-course World Championship victories include multiple events in Windsor and Melbourne. At the Pan Pacific Championships in Tokyo, she claimed gold in the 100 m breaststroke and silver in both the 200 m breaststroke and the 4×100 m medley relay.

Lilly King has etched her name into swimming history with several remarkable world records in long course meters. At the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, she set the world record for the 100 m breaststroke with a stunning time of 1:04.13, showcasing her dominance in the event. Just days later, she further solidified her legacy by establishing a world record in the 50 m breaststroke, clocking in at 29.40 seconds. Her prowess extended beyond individual events; at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju, South Korea, King was part of the 4×100 m medley relay team that set a world record time of 3:50.40.
