Matt King, also recognized as Matthew Carl King, is an American professional swimmer who has qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics as a member of the United States team. King is a junior national winner in the 100-meter freestyle and a two-time Washington State high school champion (50-meter and 100-meter freestyle). He was trained by Andrew Nguyen, Ash Milad, Ron Belleza, Bellevue Club Swim Team, and Glacier Peak High School.
At the 2024 US Olympic Team Trials, King finished eighth in the 50-metre freestyle preliminary heats with a time of 48.26 seconds. In the semifinals, he managed to hold onto his position and just barely made it through with a time of 48.11 seconds. He qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics by securing sixth position in the final 400-metre freestyle relay, clocking around 47.94 seconds, which was just 0.01 seconds slower than his 2023 record.
