Nic Fink was born on 3rd July 1993 in Morristown, New Jersey. Fink grew up with a passion for swimming, inspired by watching the sport on television as a child. He is known as one of the top breaststrokers in the world.
Fink’s swimming career took off during his college days when he competed for the Georgia Bulldogs from 2011 to 2015. Fink was a standout performer during his college days, finishing as the national runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke at the NCAA Championships in 2014 and 2015. His success at the collegiate level earned him a spot on the U.S. National Team for the 2014-2015 season. Fink graduated with a Master's degree in electrical and computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and since then his career has skyrocketed after he transitioned to the professional ranks.
Fink’s breakthrough came at the 2013 World Aquatics Championship, where he placed 8th in the 100m breaststroke final. He is currently America’s record holder in the short course 50m, 100m, and 200m breaststroke events and the American record holder in the long course 50m breaststroke. Fink also faced quite a few challenges while making his way to the top, he narrowly missed out on qualifying for the 2012 and 2016 Olympic teams. He finally made his Olympic debut at the 2020 Tokyo Games, where he finished fifth in the 100m breaststroke final. Fink also played a key role in winning the US Men’s Medley relay teams, helping them win gold medals at the 2021 and 2022 World Short Course Championships, as well as a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
