Julian was born on 9th December 1998, he has been in the sport since he was 5 years old and was trained by his dad. Julian competed in the 2016 Olympic trials in the 200-meter butterfly and became the first ever swimmer in Glendale, California to compete in an Olympic trial since 2000. Julian represented the United States at the World University Games in Naples, Italy in the year 2019 which proved to be a breakthrough in his career. He acquired a gold medal in the 4*200 meter freestyle relay team splitting a time of 1:46.99 on the third leg of the final relay.
