Born on October 22, 1998, in Mobile, Alabama, Paige Madden is an accomplished American swimmer who represents the USA at the highest levels of international competitions. Madden completed her schooling at UMS-Wright Preparatory School in Alabama and held many records during her school days in the freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke, completing a distance of 50, 100, 200, and 500-yard in the aquatic sport. She was also a two-time NCSA Junior National Championship in the 400m freestyle and a member of the US Junior National Team.
For her higher studies, she went to the University of Virginia and remained equally remarkable there. She has been named the ACC Swimmer of the Year in 2020 and 2021 and has won 13 ACC individual and relay titles. Madden has been dominant in winning titles in the NCAA Championships for the 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle, and 1650-yard freestyle in 2021.
Madden represents the United States and has won many distinctions. In 2019, she won a silver medal in the 200-meter freestyle and a gold medal as part of the 4x200-meter freestyle relay team at the World University Games. She was a part of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she competed in the 400-meter freestyle and the 4*200-meter freestyle relay, winning a silver medal in the latter event. In the 2023 Pan American Games, Madden won gold medals in the 400-meter freestyle, 800-meter freestyle, and the 4x200-meter freestyle relay. She also won a silver medal in the mixed 4x100-meter freestyle relay.
