Three-time Olympic medalist Regan Smith is an American swimmer who hails from Lakeville, Minnesota, in the United States. Born on February 9, 2002, she went to Stanford University in 2021. But after attending one season, she switched to Arizona State University. Smith, when 17, set a world record at the 2019 World Championships in 200m backstroke, clocking 02:03.35 and winning a gold medal.
Regan Smith trains with Longhorn Aquatics under Bob Bowman and at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trails, she set another world record in the women's 100 backstroke (long course), winning a gold medal and clocking 57.13 seconds. She also participated in three events during the 2020 Summer Olympics on behalf of the United States, taking home bronze in the 200-meter butterfly, silver in the 100-meter backstroke, and silver in the 4×100-meter medley relay.
