Russia win 11 medals at World Swimming Championships

Windsor (Canada), Dec 10 (IANS) The Russian team won two golds and two silvers on the fourth day of the World Swimming Championships.

They have for the first time won 11 total medals at the World Swimming Championships (25 metre), reports Tass.

After the fourth day of competitions here on Friday , Russian have won four golds, five silvers and two bronzes.

The last record of the Russian team at the world championships (25 m) was 10 sets of medals (4-4-2) in Dubai in 2010.

The Russian team (Alexey Bryansky, Nikita Lobintsev, Alexander Popkov, Vladimir Morozov) won gold in men's 4 x 50m freestyle relay on the fourth day of the championship.

Swimmer Veronika Popova also won silver in women's 400 meters freestyle. Morozov also won silver in men's 50m freestyle.

Mikhail Dovgalyuk, Mikhail Vekovischev, Artyom Lobuzov and Alexander Krasnykh won gold in men's 4 x 200m freestyle relay.

The championship will end on December 12.
