Simone Manuel Coach

Simone Manuel is an American professional swimmer specializing in freestyle events, with a notable career as a three-time Olympian, competing in the 2016, 2020, and 2024 Olympic Games. Manuel has earned six Olympic medals—two gold, three silver, and one bronze. She is also an accomplished World Championships swimmer, with a total of 16 medals including 11 gold.

Outside of the pool, she enjoys baking, cooking, and traveling. She hails from Sugar Land, TX, and stands at 5'10". She is the daughter of Marc and Sharron Manuel and has two older brothers, Christopher and Ryan.

Coach Bob Bowman began his coaching career in 1986 and has since established himself as one of the most accomplished coaches in swimming. He has served as the head coach at Arizona State University for both men's and women's swimming teams and has been a significant figure in Olympic coaching, working as an assistant in 2004, 2008, and 2012, and as the U.S. Men's Head Coach in several FINA World Championships.

Bowman also led the North Baltimore Aquatic Club as Chief Operating Officer and Head Coach, mentoring swimmers like Michael Phelps and Allison Schmitt. His tenure at the University of Michigan saw him guide the men's swimming and diving team to top national finishes and a Big Ten Conference title.

Throughout his career, Bowman has received numerous honors, including six USA Swimming Coach of the Year awards and five ASCA Coach of the Year awards, and he is actively involved in community initiatives through the Michael Phelps Foundation. On April 1, 2024, Bowman was named the Director of Swimming and Diving and Head Men's Coach at the University of Texas, where he oversees the men’s team and collaborates with the head women’s coach and diving coach to manage the entire swimming and diving program.
