The club, formed in 1919, currently plays in England's second division, the EFL Championship. Leeds United was formed following the disbanding of Leeds City F.C. by the Football League. Subsequently, the club took over their Elland Road stadium.

Over the years, Leeds has won three English league titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup, two Charity/Community Shields and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups.
